Members of the Classic Rendezvous email list cooperated in collecting features observed in Colnago bicycles to help ascertain the time of manufacture. Eric Elman assembled and submitted the following: There are still numerous blanks and some conflicting thoughts – all are presented below. I will update the list and send out as appropriate. Cutouts in all 3 lugs, all clubs are the same size. Note however that one experienced member recalls differently “I’ve never seen a Super with cutouts all the same size. That would be physically impossible anyway, based on the sizes of the lug tangs. Cutouts in all 3 lugs, but club in bottom head lug is now larger than the other lugs. There is general consensus on this too but note again that an experienced member believes the single cut-out came earlier; may have been as early as Cutout in bottom headlug only.
Two holes in each side of crown, crown itself is a sand cast type crown.

All its machines are decked out with the famous Colnago ace of clubs head tube badge. The top tube and down tube have a squared-off star shaped section, which Colnago says increases rigidity. This leads to really good power transfer and an eager ride feel. It uses alloy dropouts for their strength and reliability. But at this price, other makers are increasingly including aero and integration features in their top-end machines.
Colnago sizes its frames by the seat tube length, so the size 50 tested is significantly larger than it sounds. The finish on our Colnago C60 looks fantastic, with gloss-coated carbon weave, silver logos and luminescent crimson and blue highlights. Specification Colnago sells the C60 as a frameset only, with our test bike coming kitted out with the spec that it deserves. This reminds you just how good Dura-Ace was even before its recent upgrade.

It felt slow to me, but on top of hard-packed snow it just cruised. I had the chance to ride the first snow bike that Erik ever made. That Peacock Groove bike was a hoot to ride around through the Minneapolis autumn leaves, and I understood what a game changer a bike like that would be for a cyclist who had to endure a midwest winter. Now I have to admit that neither of these bikes were even close to being the first fat bikes.
Just a judgement call on our part.
Hello, Last week I bought this beautifull colnago. Bought it from the son of a 88 year old who couldn’t ride anymore: . He said it was from the mid nineties.
Peugeot sold bicycles throughout the world and often used different models for each country. The same bike shipped to another country had a different model number. Peugeot issued several different catalogs for the same years. Some models were different because they had different tires on them! Imagine trying to find out which s model you have after half a dozen tire changes and three owners.
What you can usually find out is where your bike falls in the line: Your best bet for detirmining the age of your bike is to match your decals up with the decals in old catalogs.
